tokito ami
oh no, i can’t help myself. she is so damn cute, but kinda bad in the same way. namely tokito ami, sometime gravure (bikini) idol, and now a singer under the wing of tsunku. the single, sentimental generation, is typical hello project fare in that “crazy” sounding way, but wow, she can actually sing!
having been a gravure idol gives her a slight edge, which is manifest in the promotional video, where for some reason she is the only girl in a badass boys school, casually waving behind them as the beatup bodies pile up. look at her moon eyes as she smiles! too cute!
and should i mention she always wears her glasses? not quite so cute without them, or the very 80s idol look that tsunku has foisted on her. to be rated somewhere between the annoying buriko of ayaya and the “i am pissed off” of ex-soloist mikitty.
You know what’s weird, though, is that a lot of her gravure stuff (that I, uh, happen to have seen) features her in these ridiculous glasses with gigantic bright green plastic frames or something. Totally not cool. It’s like the art directors have no idea what drives the “glasses thing”.
